Good to know

The space When you book the Spoonbill, you will be be nestled in beautifully crafted Belizean hardwood construction, fully air conditioned (though we prefer it with only the breezes!) and well appointed for your stay, only a 5 minutes ride from Secret Beach. Each casita generates its own electricity from sunlight & collects filtered rainwater for warm showers and washing dishes. The pool is always the perfect temperature and not a soul around to interrupt your deep dive into your favorite novel. A 20 minute ride puts you in the heart of San Pedro for shopping, diving and lots of restaurants. Great food at Guapo's or The Roadkill Cafe is in walking distance away or ride to The Sunset Palace for a frozen cocktail and get the best seat on the island (hint...its a table in the water) for the incredible sunset view!

We absolutely loved staying at the Casita. Exactly what we were looking for - a clean, quiet, beautiful space to relax and take a big deep breath. We loved having the pool to hang out in. It's small, but just right. The kitchen facilities were perfect for cooking meals. The bed was comfortable & the AC was reliable. The space is off grid/self sufficient which we enjoyed experiencing and seeing the systems that make that possible. A storm knocked out the power and the property manager was quick to respond and had things up and running again within a few hours. We thought that was quite fast given the location. The Casita is a 30-40ish min drive from San Pedro. That was appealing to us and if we go back we'll definitely look to stay here again. Everyone we encountered with the property was very friendly and helpful. Thanks to this host for making this property available! We wish we had one like it!

This place is absolutely amazing! It’s not near any grocery stores and the hours of the places to eat nearby are limited so stock up on your needs. We love being out there so it’s not an issue for us. There’s a good amount of drinking water provided. The pool stays spotless and is perfect in every way! The inside is also clean and has the amenities you need. This was our second stay here and can’t wait for the 3rd!

Shannon and Iris are wonderful hosts. I needed a place to clear my head and focus on some things that I had to accomplish. This place did just that and more. The place is beautiful, quaint, peaceful, and very private. They had all listed amenities, and the unit was very clean. If you need to get away from the rest of the world, this is a great spot for you. Highly recommended!!
